Fan View : Welcome Aboard, Mr. Lerner

Jeff Biletnikoff is happy to get company on his "sickening" cruise through the 2006 season...

Finally the owner of the Browns is concerned?

Where have you been Mr. Lerner?

He sounds like he's singing the song "How long has this been going on?"

Come on! This has been going on since 1999.

Welcome aboard, Mr. Lerner... Cleveland fans have been paying good money for this pathetic product of yours since jump street.

This last Sunday, loyal Browns fans filled the stadium (that they paid for) again.

What happened?

Virtually empty by the 3rd quarter.

Can you blame them? Will something be done about it?

No.

That's the problem.

There's not much you can do with a bad product except replace it. That's not going to happen because there's nothing to replace it with. There's no immediate fix for the Browns.

With five games to go, I guess you just try to play guys that will give you 100% effort and look to next year.

As usual, there are a whole lot of unanswered questions the Browns will have to address this offseason.

Some being:

1.  Is Charlie Frye the answer at QB for the Browns?

2.  Can the offensive line be fixed?

3.  Will the defense continue to improve?

After Sunday's debacle, I'm not so sure about the improving part but we'll have to wait and see. As Browns fans it seems that's all we ever do.

4.  Team leadership?

Starting with Phil Savage in the front office and Romeo Crennel on the field, the Braylon Edwards flap may be just a bleep or it may be the sign of a bigger problem.  We'll have to wait and see.

Can you at least shut Edwards up for the remainder of the season?

When a team is 3-8 there's plenty of blame to go around. This organization has been losing since they were reborn last decade.

Is it time for the fans to say enough and start looking for other things to do on Sundays? The Browns stink.

Put another way, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, then it's a duck.

Mr. Lerner, the Browns are a duck.

A severely wounded one at that.

Just A Thought

Jake Plummer, the soon-to-be backup QB of the Denver Broncos, shared with us a concern of his recently.

He said many NFL fans are more interested in how their fantasy teams are doing instead of being loyal to the real thing.

Excuse me?

How much did Plummer care about all those that supported him in Arizona when he bolted for more money in Denver?

Memo to "The Snake."

You ought to think that through again.
